Roller Coating Technology Delivers Consistent NVH Performance for Automotive Bra
Traditional batch spraying and intermittent coating processes suffer from uncontrollable coating thickness fluctuations, resulting in inconsistent damping elasticity of finished brake shims in different batches. This common defect leads to unstable noise detection in brake pad sampling inspections, causing frequent batch rework and quality complaints for manufacturers. To eliminate NVH performance deviation, our production line fully adopts roll-to-roll continuous coating technology for NBR coating coil.
The continuous coil coating process realizes intelligent constant-speed and constant-pressure coating lamination, minimizing the thickness fluctuation of the NBR rubber layer within an ultra-narrow tolerance range. Compared with traditional processes, it completely avoids partial ultra-thin or uneven coating problems. This precise coating control ensures extremely low differences in damping and vibration absorption performance between mass production batches of Elastomer-coated metals for automotive brake NVH Application. Every piece of processed Rubber Coated Material (RCM) for brake shim maintains consistent NVH damping indicators, thoroughly solving the problem of unstable brake noise in finished product sampling and greatly improving the pass rate of OEM batch quality inspection.
Brake shims are in a state of high-frequency reciprocating vibration during vehicle braking. Ordinary simple steel pretreatment processes only remove surface dust and oil stains superficially, resulting in weak bonding force between the NBR rubber layer and the steel substrate. Under long-term continuous vibration friction, the rubber coating is prone to delamination, peeling and degumming, which directly fails the noise reduction function of Brake insulator material.
We implement standardized multi-stage surface activation pretreatment for all steel substrates of High-performance materials for Brake Shim. The process includes deep degreasing, oxide layer removal, surface micro-roughening and molecular activation treatment, which significantly enhances the molecular bonding strength between the metal substrate and NBR elastomer. The optimized pretreatment technology enables the NBR coating coil to maintain ultra-high adhesion stability under long-term alternating vibration and pressure. Even after repeated stamping and forming, the rubber layer is closely combined with the steel back without degumming or warping, ensuring the long-term service reliability of brake shims in complex braking working conditions.
The stamping and die-cutting process of brake shims puts forward high requirements on the tear resistance and edge stability of Rubber Coated Material (RCM) for brake shim. Ordinary rubber coated steel materials have poor coating toughness, and the edge rubber layer is easy to crack, peel and damage during high-speed stamping and trimming, resulting in high production scrap rates for brake pad factories and restricting mass production efficiency.
Targeting the processing characteristics of brake shim mass production lines, we optimize the NBR rubber coating formula and curing process to endow the NBR coating coil with excellent tear resistance and bending resistance. Our customized Elastomer-coated metals for automotive brake NVH Application can withstand high-frequency and high-speed stamping and die-cutting processing. The coating remains intact without edge cracking, peeling or missing glue after forming. It effectively reduces the processing scrap rate of brake insulator products, perfectly matching the efficient production rhythm of automated stamping lines, and helping downstream manufacturers greatly reduce production costs and improve batch delivery efficiency.
Integrating continuous roll coating precision manufacturing, high-adhesion surface pretreatment and tear-resistant coating optimization, our series of NBR coating coil and Rubber Coated Material (RCM) for brake shim stand out in the field of automotive brake accessories. With consistent batch NVH performance, vibration-resistant non-peeling coating and excellent stamping adaptability, our High-performance materials for Brake Shim and Brake insulator material effectively solve the core industry pain points of unstable noise reduction effect and high processing scrap rate. It provides high-quality, stable and cost-effective elastomer-coated metal solutions for global automotive brake OEM and aftermarket mass production.
